I am a fan of ethnic foods, and love trying new things. I had tried to go to Mediterranean Grill for dinner a few times, to use a Groupon, but kept being in Freeport on Tuesdays. Be aware that they are closed on Tuesdays! I finally got there for a late lunch with my daughter. At 2:30 on a Thursday, there were just a few tables occupied on their spacious porch. Service was prompt and very courteous. In fact, both the man I assumed was the manager or owner, and the server, who may also have been cooking, were very nice to us.
I was very pleased to see all of the gluten free and vegetarian offerings on the menu, and that the dishes were clearly marked as such on the menu. We settled on a gyro sandwich (comes with potatoes) and a steak kebab entree (with rice and grilled veggies). We were served large portions that were delicious and savory. The spices were just right, and everything was cooked perfectly. We did a calorie splurge on the baklava, and did not regret it! And my daughter's Mai Tai was a nice addition, not skimpy on the spirits.
Although it did take a bit longer for us to get our food, relative to the number of folks in the restaurant, it wasn't out of the ordinary, considering how few staff members were on site. And the food was worth it!
Highly recommended, though it would be great if MG listed its hours on their website! -

Just had a delicious mixed appetizer platter and a gyro with rice and vegetables. Everything was tasty and service prompt and polite. Lovely setting and we were able to enjoy food, drinks and conversation in comfortable, attractive dining area.

I bought a LivingSocial coupon to come here had to go on a Friday or Saturday. Picked a Friday night was not crowded at all which is strange as the food is fantastic. We were trying to stay on the cheep side to get the good value with the coupon but abandoned that plan when we saw the menu. Waiter was very nice and helpful with menu suggestions. We got the appetizer platter which had very generous portions and some fantastic hummus and salads , and my newest favorite sigara borek "fillo dough with feta cheese mix ( not sure how I have never had this delicious item before but I may go back and sit at the bar and just eat these. The appetizer platter alone would have been enough for two but since we were out we got the Donner/gyro served with the house potato very good also enough for us to share. My friend really loved baklava so we went all out and split that as well. It was definitely worth the extra calories. Great experience hope to return soon.

Best food I've had so far in Maine! The lamb / beef gyro was flavorful and filled with meat. I loved the tangy cream sauce on the side. My husband had the kebabs which he enjoyed. The grape leaves were good and wrapped tightly but could have had more flavor. Turkish coffee was strong and almost tasted like liqueur. A little overpriced in our opinion. Service was attentive and food came quickly. We sat on the patio which was lovely! Prices overall were great!

A solid 3 stars. The service was friendly but the food took a long time to come out even though there were only 2 other customers there. The portions were small for the price and the food was very mediocre. We were in the area to shop and this wasn't a bad place to stop for lunch but I would not really recommend it or be inclined to ever go back.
